- Carrot – 1 piece
- Cornstarch – 2 tablespoons
- Water – 1 cup
- Brown sugar – 0.5 cup
- Soy sauce – 0.5 cup
- Rice vinegar – 2 tablespoons
- Fresh ginger – 1 teaspoon
- Garlic cloves – 3 pieces
- Maple syrup – 2 tablespoons
- Red chili pepper – 1 piece

Preparation
Drain the jackfruit in a sieve and transfer it to a paper towel to remove excess liquid. Cut the carrot into thin sticks. Heat sunflower oil in a pan and fry the jackfruit and carrot for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Grate the ginger using a fine grater, and press the garlic through a garlic press. In a bowl, combine water with cornstarch. Then add brown sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and maple syrup. Pour the prepared sauce over the browned jackfruit. Cook for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Slice the red chili pepper into thin strips. Transfer the jackfruit to a plate and sprinkle with chili pepper and sesame seeds. Serve the dish hot with rice.
