Quick French Tart

Quick French Tart

A very simple and rapid dessert that anyone can prepare! Made tart with ready-made French pastry and a simple mascarpone cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet of French pastry
  • 1 egg
  • 250 g mascarpone cheese
  • 200 ml heavy cream (30% fat)
  • 4 tablespoons powdered sugar + extra for dusting
  • seasonal fruits e.g., raspberries, blueberries, strawberries

Preparation:

The French pastry must be chilled and should not warm up during shaping. It must be cold when placed in the oven. Ensure mascarpone cheese and whipping cream are cold and well chilled. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit). Take the French pastry out of the fridge, unfold it, and line any baking dish (e.g., a metal tart pan with removable bottom or rectangular cake pan).

Do not let the pastry warm up; keep it chilled in the fridge while the oven preheats. Brush the pastry with beaten egg and place it in the preheated oven for 15 – 17 minutes, until golden and puffed up. Remove from the oven and let it cool. In a bowl, combine cold mascarpone cheese and heavy cream, add powdered sugar and flavoring (if using), and beat until doubled in volume, about 1 – 2 minutes. Spread the cream mixture over the cooled pastry base, leaving the edges bare. Arrange fruits and mint leaves (if using) on top. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
