A homemade way to a delicious, crispy snack dusted with spices – perfect for gatherings with friends!

Ingredients

  • Sunflower oil – 1.5 liters
  • Mixed pepper – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Sea salt – 2 teaspoons
  • Dried thyme – 1 teaspoon
  • Potatoes – 500 g

Preparation

Mix 1 teaspoon of salt with pepper. Grind the remaining salt finely with thyme in a mortar. Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly using a vegetable peeler, about 1 mm thick.

Heat the oil in a wide saucepan until bubbles appear on a wooden spoon when inserted. Fry the potato slices in small batches for about 30 seconds, until lightly browned at the edges. Remove with a sieve or slotted spoon, arrange side by side on paper towels, and drain well.

Transfer each batch of chips to a bowl and add the salt and thyme mixture or pepper and salt mixture. Serve immediately.
