Lunch Box Hot Hot Dogs

Lunch Box Hot Hot Dogs

Say goodbye to cold sandwiches or room temperature snacks. This recipe guarantees a hot, comforting meal even hours after it’s packed. It’s like having a little piece of home with you. The familiar taste of a hot dog topped with your favourite condiments can brighten any day.

Ingredients:

  • 1 all-beef hot dog
  • 1 hot dog bun
  • 1 packet of ketchup
  • 1 packet of prepared yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons grated cheddar cheese

Method of preparation:

Prepare your lunch box by packing the hot dog bun, ketchup, mustard and cheddar cheese.

Preheat your child’s insulated drink container by filling it with boiling water. Let it stand for 15 to 20 minutes to heat up.

Just before they leave for school, pour out the water and replace it with more boiling water to keep the container hot longer.

Place the hot dog in the water and close the lid.

When it’s time for lunch, your child can take the hot dog out of the container and place it on the bun.

Top with ketchup, mustard and cheese and enjoy a hot lunch from home.
