Asian Style Pork Knuckle

Asian Style Pork Knuckle

Perfectly marinated meat in beer, soy sauce, honey, and spices. This is the way to prepare pork knuckle in an oriental style.

Ingredients

  • Black pepper – 1 pinch
  • Bay leaf – 2 pieces
  • Cloves – 2 pieces
  • Pork knuckle – 400 g
  • Salt – 1 pinch

Marinade:

  • Garlic cloves – 3 pieces
  • Honey – 3 tablespoons
  • Black pepper – 1 pinch
  • Beer – 400 ml
  • Salt – 1 pinch
  • Soy sauce – 75 g
  • Ground chili – 1 pinch

Preparation

  1. Wash the pork knuckle, place it in a large pot, add the spices, and pour in enough water to cover the knuckle. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer until tender for about 2 to 3 hours. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. Finely chop the garlic. Prepare the marinade with 250 ml of beer and the remaining ingredients.
  3. Score the skin of the pork knuckle, pour the marinade over the knuckle, and let it marinate for at least 2 hours, turning the knuckle occasionally in the marinade.
  4. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and set it to grill mode. Remove the knuckle from the marinade, place it on a baking sheet or in a baking dish, and bake for about 40 minutes, basting occasionally with the juices produced during baking and the remaining 150 ml of beer.
