Angel Food Cake with Apples

If you have leftover egg whites and you’re wondering how to use them, try this recipe for a light cake made solely from egg whites with apples.


  • Egg whites: 7
  • Sugar: 1/2 cup
  • All-purpose flour: 1 cup
  • Baking powder: 1.5 teaspoons
  • Vegetable oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Apples: 2
  • Lemon zest sugar for cakes and desserts: 1 packet


Beat the egg whites with sugar, then add sifted flour with baking powder and oil. Pour the batter into a cake pan. Peel and cut the apples into quarters, then place them on top of the batter. Bake for about 40-45 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Once cooled, dust the cake with powdered sugar.
