French Toast with Salted Caramel

French toast with a sweet twist is a perfect idea for a delicious breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of brioche or challah bread
  • 1 large egg
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter

For serving

  • Salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade – RECIPE)
  • Raspberry jam, fresh raspberries

Preparation:

  1. In a deep plate, whisk together the egg with milk and vanilla sugar.
  2. Dip slices of bread into the egg mixture, allowing them to soak briefly.
  3. Heat butter in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Fry the soaked bread slices until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and repeat on the other side.
  5. Remove from the pan and place on a plate.
  6. Drizzle with salted caramel sauce. Optionally, serve with raspberry jam and/or fresh raspberries.
