Turmeric Latte

A Turmeric Latte, also known as Golden Milk, is a cup of liquid sunshine, a soothing elixir that warms the soul and delights the senses. It’s a drink that combines the earthy spice of turmeric with the sweet notes of cinnamon and vanilla, creating a symphony of flavours that dance on your palate.

Ingredients:

  • 350ml almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • ¼ tsp ground turmeric
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • A grind of black pepper

Method of preparation:

Pour the almond milk into a saucepan and heat gently. Do not let it boil.

Add the ground turmeric, ground cinnamon and ground ginger to the milk.

Stir in the vanilla extract and maple syrup. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.

Add the ground black pepper. This is important as it helps to absorb the curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric.

Whisk constantly over a gentle heat. If you have a milk frother, you can use it to make a nice froth.

When the mixture is hot (but not boiling), pour into a mug.

You can sprinkle a little more cinnamon on top if you like.
