Spicy Margarita Mocktail

Spicy Margarita

Spicy Margarita Mocktail is a proposal for people who like drinks, but without alcohol. The drink can be served at parties, but it can also be a great refreshment on a hot day.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4-5 limes)
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice (about 1-2 oranges)
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup or simple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste for desired level of spiciness)
  • 1/2 jalapeño pepper, sliced (optional, for extra heat)
  • ice cubes
  • salt or chili powder (for rimming the glass, optional)
  • lime wedges or slices, for garnish
  • jalapeño slices or chili pepper, for garnish (optional)

Method of preparation:

Begin by preparing the glass. If desired, rim the edge of a glass with a lime wedge and then dip it into salt or chili powder to coat the rim. Set aside.

In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, combine the fresh lime juice, fresh orange juice, agave syrup or simple syrup, and cayenne pepper. If you like it extra spicy, add a few slices of jalapeño pepper to the mix.

Fill the shaker or mixing glass with ice cubes.

Close the shaker or cover the mixing glass, and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill the mixture and combine the flavors.

Strain the Spicy Margarita Mocktail into the prepared glass filled with ice.

Garnish the mocktail with a lime wedge or slice on the rim of the glass and, if desired, a slice of jalapeño or chili pepper for an extra kick.
